Dear Friend,

The Vermont Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is committed to helping communities in Vermont and New York with Parkinson’s disease (PD). The Chapter is led by individuals, some of whom are directly affected by PD, so we understand what impacts you and your family. Collectively, we strive to meet your needs by searching for unique ways to provide education and support.

Services provided:

  • Respite Services: It frequently falls to one person – a spouse, relative or friend to provide care and assistance for people with advanced PD. The VT Chapter of APDA provides vouchers for in-home respite care to relieve caregivers for a short time.
  • Jim’s House: A home away from home for patients traveling from afar to Burlington for Neurological care. Jim’s House offers overnight lodging at no cost for patients and their immediate care giver.
  • Community Building: The VT Chapter supports educational and social events. These events allow members of the PD community to network with each other, as well as with various wellness resources.

Whether it is participating in a fundraiser, volunteering to help run an event, or serving as a member of the board, the Vermont APDA needs you. Please consider renewing your membership or joining us as we find “Strength in Optimism, Hope in Progress”.

With gratitude,
Maureen B.L. Vinci
